Foundry air tools
The appropriate foundry air tool for your application
Air tools manufactured by MANNESMANN DEMAG with a focus on a perfect coordination of performance and speed, an optimized air consumption and resistant materials support numerous foundries all over the world to improve the ergonomics, to raise the efficiency and to keep the high quality of the castings. For the production of a sand core or for melting operations, during the maintenance of ladles and furnace and for the finishing of the castings: MANNESMANN DEMAG foundry air tools. You are searching for air die grinders, drills, rammers, chisel hammers or chisels? We are the right partner to find your suitable air tool, which is perfectly appropriate for your grinding application. Our die grinders are especially constructed for operations with carbide burrs or with mounted points. With the right foundry air tool it is possible to elaborate steel and low carbon steel as well as aluminium and other nonferrous metals. You can reach the high quality of your foundry products, which is required by your customers, when you use the air tools with 400 up to 1300 watt. Powerful chisel hammers from 1.5 lbs up to 55 lbs, chisels with a length up to 118 inches or special solutions facilitate working ergonomically with low vibrations. |
Foundry ladles
While the utilization you can recognize a wastage of the fire-proof internal lining of the foundry ladles. Therefore it has to be repaired or exchanged. Potential existing metal or clinker leftovers are displaceable regularly. In this case our medium chisel hammers up to 15 lbs are perfect because they ensure a regulated working with chisels up to 59 inches in the crucible. |
Melting furnaces
When the melting furnaces are running all time the internal lining wears out. So they have to be repaired or even completely replaced after the melting process. Potential existing movable and not fixed parts in the furnace shaft as well as metal and clinker leftovers have to be eliminated. In this case our chisel air hammers up to 48.5 lbs are the appropriate tool. A strong but regulated working in the furnace is guaranteed by these chisel hammers with chisels available up to 118 inches. |
Mold production
Particulary with regard to big cast parts you work often with rammers in the molding pits. Combined with the appropriate ramming feet the MANNESMANN DEMAG air rammers offer many varied solutions. Also our drills and motors for drilling are applicable in this case, for example while setting the sprue, feeder and riser. A special solution for the engine molding shop: Resourceful engineers can find appropriate foundry air tools to prepare casting molds in our wide range of air motors for drilling. |
Cast finishing
After the cooling process, the cast part needs to be fettled. This process is one of the biggest fields of application for different types of foundry air tools: Angle grinders, straight grinders with long neck or chisel hammers mostly with special formed chisels. Initially you unpack the cast part and eliminate the core. There are two different ways for this process: It could happen automatically by vibrating machines or you crush the mold manually with the appropriate chisel hammers or by a decoring machine. By blasting the cast part mechanically it will be cleared of the rest of the molding sand, which remained on the surface. The leftovers of the in-gate sprue and feeder systems will be eliminated by hydraulic tools or band saws. When the material is lowly alloyed, these parts can be knocked off by air chisel hammers with the appropriate chisels. The last operational step in the fettling shop is deburring and grinding. With the help of fixed grinding machines, but especially with hand air die grinders you can remove flash, mold and catsing faults. This is where you apply our tough die grinders and customized chisels with the appropriate air hammers, whose energy is adapted. |
